CLAIRE SUAVERDEZ.... Rawr.

Dragon Lady. We hear this everywhere be it in movies, in seryes, on tv or mere chit-chat between friends. We define Dragon usually represented as breathing fire. Funny how we sometimes refer to someone as "DRAGON LADY". This made me laugh, When I decided to apply to One Global my friends were frantic. They were like " Nag iisip ka ba tanga ka!" another said " Ang dami jan dun pa sa wala ka naman mapapala" and the other one said " Yung boss daw dun nabasa ko sa mga forum si CLAIRE SUAVERDEZ salbahe daw". And those thngs they told me got me thinking " Why not OGCC? Why not Claire Suaverdez?".
Being stubborn in nature i decided to give it a go. I applied and fortunately enough i got hired as a sales agent for an account that offers vacation packages. T'was my first week when I got a close encounter with the "DRAGON LADY". She was wearing this pink dress, white flats and a not so happy face. At around 2am Manila time, I heard this group of I guess tenured agents talking about a certain Claire Suaverdez. They were talking and telling things about her, That this Claire Suaverdez is very inconsiderate. That she doesnt have any idea how hard it is to sell packages. That she dont give a damn if her people are already tired trying to have a atleast one sale a day.
All negative things were thrown on their discussion. All about this Claire Suaverdez, Im done with my suppose to be lunch break and I stayed in the recepcion area for a while. I had a small talk with kuya guard and I asked him things about the One Global since it is my first time to work there. He said lots of good things about the company. About mngt ofcourse, The I asked him about this Claire Suaverdez. He smiled and said "Mabait yun si Madam, masipag pa. Dati yang agent dito nag sikap lang ayan Director na". At the back of my mind I wanted to say "Parang hindi naman kasi bakit cia tatawagin na Dragon Lady kung may bait yan sa katawan". And then he said " madami nag sasalita ng di maganda tungkol jan. Kesho salbahe daw or DRAGON LADY daw kasi bubugahan ka daw ng apoy pag wala ka benta.".
That hit me! The thing that Kuya Guard told me. Why do we refer to her as Dragon Lady? Why do we look at Claire Suaverdez in a way that we would or people would hate her? Dont they realized that she is just doing her job and for sure she would also want to see her agents succeed like her?
Im dont know Claire Suaverdez, Im not even interested in her personal life. But the way I see her, She is just one hell of a hardworking person, Whould would want to see her people succeed cause I know and I can feel that this is her way of giving back all the blessings she have received. And yes she is OGCC's Dragon Lady.

Her presence alone could fill up an entire quadrant that, at times, I couldn’t help but wonder if we are mere space fillers. It must be her commanding voice, her powerful stance, her striking confidence, or the combination of all three that could make anyone think twice of walking past her. Mind you, she’s no Miranda Priestley for she’s in a league all her own.

Miss Janna has that slight Miranda vibe going on. Well, minus the killer heels and the permanent scowl. I’ll forever remember that day when she didn’t show up for work and we all thought we could let our hair down, so to speak. Witty remarks such as “let’s party!” “walang boss boss dito” and “tara, uwi na!” filled the spacious room upon official notice of her absence. Ah, finally, we could walk freely in the halls without being subject to her discriminating stare. You probably get the picture.

Then at exactly 3am she showed up. I guess they don’t refer to 3am as the devil’s hour for nothing. As in “The Devil Wears Prada” - again, minus the killer heels bit - we rushed to our posts and feigned busy-ness. Christ, there were even remnants of our fleeting “party” - empty foil wrappers, bits of cellophane and the like! A skeptical look was upon her face and we knew right then and there that someone’s head was bound to come off and roll on floor. I was right next to her that I feared for my life more than anything. She stretched out her hand and I seriously thought that was the end of me. Lo and behold she had a huge bag of pandesal in her outstretched hand! She managed to humor everyone saying “eh di party’s over”.

Guess it doesn’t hurt to have a strict boss. At least I know she has some sense of niceness about her person.

Gordon Ting a Ling.

He's got the moves, the skills, the fighting spirit. Born in San Francisco, grew up in Hong Kong. He was considered one of the most influential martial artists of the 20th century and blah blah blah. I'm not actually referring to Gordon Ting when i wrote those things. Yes I'm not. I just wanna give him a spanking introduction. Just like how remarkable he was when first introduced to me. (Oh by the way, he looks like Bruce Lee. Beat that!)

Gordon Ting is a very well respected man. We may not have built a very solid friendship but by the words of my bestfriend, Shellita Immaculada, I feel like I've known him and friends with him for a long time. She said apart from me and Eddie, Gordon Ting is her confidant, her shock absorber (yes that made me jealous!). He's fun but knows his limitation, he's a beach lover minus the water. He's the best boss ever, never gets a fever never gets a cold (Cyborg?). And he loves shopping. Did i mention that he loves shopping? Lol. He balances life very well -- work, friends, family, personal life. He's Gordon Ting and he's simply amazing.

His work ethic, let me tell you, is epic. He never compromises time with his task, always making sure the output is worth the effort. What's 30 minutes of sleep compared to 30 years of success right? My bestfriend would refer to him as Superman. Never gets tired. Never gets weary. Everytime we go out she would always share her day-to-day life with her boss and I never hear her say " Im dead tired Esnin". As a matter of fact she would always ask me and my other bestfriend to apply to their office so we get to work with his boss.

And at the end of the day Shellita Immaculada would always refer to Gordon Ting as her "Favorite Boss".
